Wood for saunas

The eight woods we work with. The samples are real photos of boards from our supplier; each has its own tone, feel and durability.

Siberian spruce

Siberian spruce grows slowly in a cold climate, so it has dense growth rings and few knots. For saunas we use grade A+ without resin pockets. A light tone, a delicate scent and the best value for money.

Thermo spruce

Heat treatment at 200 °C removes resin and moisture from the spruce, giving it a darker caramel tone and dimensional stability. It does not crack or warp and withstands moisture even outdoors.

Thermo pine

Aspen

Aspen has no resin or knots and stays cool to the touch even at 90 °C, which is why it is the first choice for benches and backrests. Light, almost white, with a silky surface.
